Get ready for an exhilarating evening of music, food, dancing, and Chanukah cheer! Join Congregation Etz Chaim for our annual Chanukah celebration, including a potluck dinner, menorah lighting, community fundraiser, sing-along, children’s activities, live klezmer music from The Casco Bay Tummlers, and Israeli dancing with instructor Barbara Merson.
Admissions Information
- Open to the public; registration is required for both in-person and online participation.
- Cost for in-person attendance is a suggested donation of $10/person or $25/family (payable at the door via check, cash, or QR code).
What’s Happening:
5–6 p.m.
Potluck Dinner
- Please bring a dairy or vegetarian dish to share (no meat, please)
- Lots of Latkes hot off the stove
- Beverages, desserts, and gelt included
5–7:30 p.m.
Silent Auction
- Silent auction to benefit Seeds of Hope and Doctors Without Borders (see below for details on what and how to donate items as prizes)
6–8 p.m.
Potluck Dinner
- Lighting of the synagogue menorah
- Sing-along led by Cantor Strassler
- Beverages, desserts, and gelt included
- Live klezmer music by The Casco Bay Tummlers
- Israeli dancing led by Barbara Merson
- Children’s activities
Parking and Security
- Handicapped Parking: Spots will be available in front of synagogue.
- Free parking will be available at The Alfred Street Parking lot located next to the Police Station. Information will be provided to registrants prior to the Chanukah party.
- Security will be present
- No backpacks will be allowed in the building
Silent Auction
Do you have something to donate to Congregation Etz Chaim’s silent auction fundraiser to benefit Seeds of Hope and Doctors Without Borders? We are accepting donations of Judaica art, Chanukah decorations and tchotchkes, homemade baked goods, jewelry, gift baskets, gift cards, and anything else that you think community members may like.
